Then come to our annual Professional Communications Workshop where you will receive some tips and tricks on how to approach professors about a laboratory position, find research opportunities, and write effective resumes and applications.

The Undergraduate Chemistry Society (UCS) invites you to attend our annual Professional Communications Workshop on Thursday, October 27 from 12:30 – 2:00 pm in CHEM D213. Come learn about applying for research opportunities, communicating with professors and instructors, writing resumes and cover letters.
Our guest speakers include a representative from UBC Career Services and a faculty member from the Department of Chemistry.

Ever wonder how you should approach your professors to ask about research opportunities? How you should communicate with people in the professional world? How do you write an effective résumé and cover letter, especially when you have limited work/research experience?
This year, the Undergraduate Chemistry Society @ UBC is pleased to announce that Ms. Angela Pau, a Career Educator from the Centre for Student Involvement & Careers, will be running a workshop to aid undergraduate students in honing their professional communication skills. Dr. Michael Wolf will be co-presenting and bringing his perspective as a professor in the Chemistry department.
