Interested in learning more about a professor’s research interests? Want to see what is like inside their research lab? By popular demand, YOUR UCS is bringing back Lab Tours!

Below is a list of which Chemistry faculty member’s will be hosting a lab tour, and we made sure to set up some really cool ones for you guys. Be sure to RSVP!! Spots are limited! And OF COURSE, YOUR UCS will hook you up with a free lunch if you come to the lab tour. RSVP TODAY!!

Round 1: March 3rd, 12:30 – 2:00pm, CHEM D213

Dr. Allan Bertram
Research Interests: Chemical and Physical processes of atmospheric aerosol particles and the role they play in urban air pollution, climate change and atmospheric chemistry.

Dr. Marco Ciufolini
Research Interests: Synthesis of nitrogenous natural products that possess interesting structures and useful biological activities.

Round 2: March 8th, 12:30 – 2:00pm, CHEM D213

Dr. Harry Brumer
Research Interests: To understand the way in which particular enzymes act to alter the structure of polysaccharides found in biomass, and to harness these enzymes for applications. Interested in the carbohydrate active enzymes which synthesize, re-arrange, and degrade glycosidic bonds. As well, studies of carbohydrate oxidases involved in polysaccharide functionalisation.

Round 3: March 10th, 12:30 – 2:00pm, CHEM D213

Dr. Jennifer Love
Research Interests: Exploring the reactivity of late transition metal-element, M-E, bonds. Implicated in a wide variety of catalytic processes.

Dr. David Perrin
Research Interests: Using the tools of synthetic chemistry to address questions of molecular recognition and catalysis within a biological setting, all the while maintaining medically relevant goals.
