Collaborative Study Halls

Due to the popularity of last term’s study hall, we have decided to make study halls a bi-weekly event this term! It will take place every other Wednesday, from 5-7 pm in CHEM D213!

CHEM 121 MT1 Review Session

Calling all CHEM 123 students!

The UCS is back with another review session for the upcoming CHEM 123 midterm 1. We will cover several questions and walk through the thought processes together to help you feel more prepared for the upcoming midterm! There will be a half an hour Q&A session at the end.

CHEM121 MT2 Review Session
The Undergraduate Chemistry Society will be hosting a CHEM121 Midterm 2 review session! We will do walkthroughs of practice questions to help you feel more prepared for the upcoming midterm. We will also be having a Q&A session where you are welcome to bring any additional questions!
The review session will take place in CHEMB250 this Friday, November 17, from 5-7 pm.

Fall 2-Bucks-a-Beaker! 

The UBC Undergraduate Chemistry Society in collaboration with UBC Physics Society is hosting a night of beers in beakers followed by some trivia.

Team up with your friends and come join us for a fun evening before midterms start!

Here are some things you should know:
Cost of entry: FREE
When: October 13th, from 5:30pm-10:00pm.
Where: Abdul Ladha Science Student Center

Beers are 2$! Beakers are optional for 5$ and cups will be provided free of charge. Beakers are recommended for optimal consumption purposes.

You must be 19+ to attend, please bring 2 pieces of identification (primary and secondary)
One beer per hour per person

Abdul Ladha has a maximum capacity of 133, so make sure to RSVP ASAP!!! Drop-ins will be permitted but will be subject to event capacity.

Grad School Application Workshop

Dr. Eva Nichols and Dr. Nadine Borduas-Dedekind are hosting an application workshop for those applying to grad school for the Fall 2024 season!

This workshop will focus on how to write a compelling application and give individual feedback on your application. Feel free to bring a CV, a description of your scientific interests, or a list of schools/groups you are interested in applying to (not required).

The workshop will take place on October 11th, 6:00pm – 7:30pm. Dinner will be provided! Location TBA
